Kapari Lodge & Spa is located just two hours from Quito and thirty minutes from Mindo, in the parish of San Miguel de Los Bancos, surrounded by one of the last remnants of primeval forest in the world.

THE ECUADORIAN ANDEAN CHOCÓ: A MILLENARY RESERVE OF BIODIVERSITY
Discover at Kapari the wonders of the Andean Chocó, a biosphere reserve, declared as such by UNESCO due to its scientific and biological relevance. This extensive reserve is considered a biodiversity hotspot in the Americas, hosting endemic species of flora and fauna, remnants of Andean forests and impressive and invaluable ecosystems.
The diverse climatic floors of the Andean Chocó range from the cold northwestern peaks of Pichincha to the hot tropics, making this a privileged site for the sighting of species in multiple ecosystems, thanks to the different altitudinal floors that preserve around 700 species of birds, 140 species of amphibians, 40 reptiles, among many others.
The evolution of nature has been unique throughout the area of the Andes mountain range, since its elevations have acted, over time, as a geographical barrier; which has preserved intact the species that have never explored beyond the limit of the Andean mountains. Because of this many species of the Andean Chocó are endemic and are not found anywhere else in the world.

DISCOVER FASCINATING LANDSCAPES
Our 8 panoramic suites are spread over three floors, all offering unparalleled views of the forest and the Rio Blanco. This modern structure surrounded by trees houses spacious suites with comfortable bathrooms and are the ideal place to relax after a day of exploring. We also have two inside suites with two interconnected rooms, an excellent option for families or groups of friends traveling together.

Kapari is the perfect refuge for inner renewal, we create a new way of feeling the senses. Our SPA, located in the central part of the lodge, offers a wide variety of beauty and body relaxation treatments, including couples or individual massages performed by qualified people.
Pool and jacuzzi above the clouds
The outdoor pool and jacuzzi show an imposing panoramic view of the Chocó Forest and the Rio Blanco. Enjoy under the sun and marvel at the natural surroundings, while you soak in the pool or relax in our jacuzzi after a day of hiking in the majestic tropical forest.
Bird Hideout
Developed especially for bird lovers and photographers, we have a “hideout”, a space of silence for the sighting of numerous species of birds and some mammals that visit the area. In this place it´s possible to observe some specimens without having to walk more than 200 meters from your room.
Trails
From our lodge it´s possible to discover the hidden wonders of the mountains, the valley and the Rio Blanco. We have several ecological trails for day and night walks, nature observation, bird watching, herpetofauna, butterflies, exotic flowers, streams and water springs. The network of trails goes from 1000 to 740 meters above sea level.
Camping Sites
Experiencing nature up close and watching the stars is possible from our independent camping areas, from where you can relax under the night sky, share a picnic or a campfire, always with all services at hand.
Event Hall
An area for the organization of events, whether social or corporate, in an elegant bright and spacious room, with comfortable tables and chairs; the ideal space to create unforgettable moments, both at weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and other meetings such as training, workshops, development of group business dynamics, among others.
Butterfly Garden
Discover the wonderful world of butterflies in Kapari, a perfect habitat that provides healthy spaces for the development of various species. In our Butterfly Garden, we create a site designed to offer them food, shelter and rest. Our guests will be able to live the experience of the liberation of one of them, towards its natural environment.

Plants Nursery
A strong environmental and social commitment of Kapari Lodge is the protection and recovery of the native forests of the Chocó region, so we have adapted spaces to maintain plant nurseries, where the life of the future trees that´ll populate this splendid natural environment begins, starting with the Kapari Nature Reserve. Two species new to science stand out in our nursery, whose discovery is in the process of publication.
